VascuBlem
The VascuBlem electrocoagulation system provides you with quick and easy removal of Telangiectasia (couperose), spider veins, cherry angiomas, skin tags and many other vascular blemishes. VascuBlem is a noninvasive "touch" technique that never requires skin penetration. Unlike laser treatment, negative side effects such as pain, scarring, bruising and hyper-pigmentation are avoided.
What are Vascular Blemishes?
Broken capillaries and spider veins are classified in medical terminology as "telangiectasias." Broken capillaries are commonly found under the eyes and around the nose. Spider veins are commonly found on the legs. Hemangioma, which are referred to as cherry anigoma or red rubies, resemble small red dots or patches. They can appear nearly anywhere on the body.
What Causes Vascular Blemishes?
Heredity plays a key role in determining who will have vascular blemishes. Those will fair skin have a higher incidence of telangiectasia than those with more olive complexions. Other contributing factors may include age, hormones, smoking, sun exposure, and alcohol consumption.
How does VascuBlem work?
During a VascuBlem session a fine tipped sterile probe is placed on the surface of the blemish. Low level radio frequency and direct current is passed through the probe to the vessel. The blood in the tiny vessel is coagulated and stops flowing. The vessel is naturally absorbed into the surrounding tissue and thus disappears. Most conditions are successfully and permanently treated in one to three 15 minute sessions.
Is the Procedure Safe?
Yes! Electrocoagulation has been used safely for years to remove vascular blemishes.
Is it Painful?
Some experience a slight ”pinprick“ sensation that can be mildly uncomfortable. However, a topical anesthetic cream is applied, greatly reducing the discomfort.
Does VascuBlem Work for Skin Tags?
Yes! Skin tags come in many forms. They may be smooth or irregular to the touch and range from flesh colored to more deeply pigmented. They are either raised above the surrounding skin or have a stalk (a peduncle) so that the skin tag hangs from the skin. Regardless of a skin tag's appearance or location, it can be treated with VascuBlem.
What to Expect
You need to pay attention not to disturb the treated vessels for 24 hours. After the session you will need to avoid caffeine and alcohol, as well as hot showers, saunas, jacuzzis, exercise, and anything else that flushes the face for the rest of the day. With proper care, the treated blemishes may darken or scab. This is easily covered with concealer, until it disappears, revealing the results of the session. Once a vascular blemish has been eliminated, it will not return. In order to keep new blemishes from occurring, patients are encouraged to avoid excessive sun exposure and alcohol consumption. Smoking should be avoided entirely.
