Chemical Peels
Perhaps more commonly known as Lunchtime peels or Executive peels, these facials gently exfoliate the top layers of skin to reveal the healthier skin underneath. The procedure combines the relaxation and hydration of a European facial with a light acid peel.
The peels have a myriad of beneficial effects. The new skin revealed after a procedure has a more even tone, smaller pores, and a smoother all over appearance. This is an effective treatment for sun damage and discoloration as well as acne and blemishes. Chemical exfoliation can also reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
What is a Chemical Peel?
A chemical peel exfoliates through the penetration of an acid into your skin. The depth and intensity of the peel is dependant on several factors; the concentration of the acid as well as the size of the acid molecule. The deeper the acid penetrates the more extreme the exfoliation expected.
We offer several different kinds of chemical peels, each utilizing a different primary acid and different concentration. All of our peel compounds are physician strength formulas, significantly more effective than the maximum legal strength of comparable spa treatments. We offer both Alpha Hydroxy and Beta Hydroxy (also known as Salicylic Acid) peels. A less penetrating but still effective peel is our Glycolic acid peel, which has none of the potential discomfort of some of the other acids. Finally we offer TCA, or Trichloroacetic Acid, in two different strengths for the deepest peels.
Our peels are not just for your face. They are as effective at smoothing skin, evening tone, and erasing blemishes on your arms, back, or legs. Our stronger peels are excellent for smoothing rough and unattractive hands and feet.
What to Expect
Each patient’s case is unique and a customized procedure plan is determined during a complimentary consultation with Dr. Franco. A full peel is a 50 minute procedure and includes a relaxing mini facial. All skin care treatments are performed by a Licensed Professional Medical Esthetician in a private facial room.
The treatment is a very relaxing process. Your skin will be cleansed, warmed with steam towels, and cooled with a toner. The chemical procedure follows and is closely monitored by the Esthetician to ensure your continued comfort. The procedure is finished by a gentle but stimulating neck, shoulder, and facial massage, signature hydrating pack, and sunscreen.
After a peel most patients feel comfortable returning immediately to work and their daily routines. In fact, immediately following a peel your skin will look great. Over the following days the top layers of skin will peel off, however with intense moisturizing it should not greatly impact your routine.
